A Winter Landscape

A Winter Landscape

A Winter Landscape is a six screen projected video installation with sound. It follows the dual eye-view of the artist as she runs through the harsh winter landscapes of the trail paths surrounding the town of Banff in Alberta, Canada.

The work was made during a five week co-production residency at the Banff New Media Institute in 2009, where the artist also researched the potentials of live image streaming and transmission. It is a part of an ongoing project that concerns the making of video/performance artworks using mobile camera technologies worn on the artist's head and body to record long distance runs.

The installation was first previewed at the Triangle project space, Chelsea College of Art & Design in December 2009, alongside a discussion event with artist Graeme Miller.
